I, John, the chief writer here, does the following in approximately the same sequence:

.

   (1)  Along with eating my oatmeal or bagel, I read on my Kindle approx. one chapter from Matthew or Acts.² [at 7 or 8 AM]

.

   (2)  I make a daily notation in my journal [I’m on p. 6647 in Journal 34.]

.

   (3)  I read a portion of my previous writing. (Right now it’s in Earth Is Not Alone.³) Then I pray.

I do all this as a Christian who attempts to take life seriously as a 79-year-old with a opportunities to “control” the days, hours, and minutes I have left. Many details of my life remain to be dealt with. But that’s not the subject here.

I’ve committed my life to Christ–whom we are to seek first–and to my wife Karen who lives with me. Commitments and responsibilities matter to me.

   That said, here’s an overview:

   (1)  The Bible truly matters to me. It refreshes and comforts me. It reveals Truth that matters. Further, recent research in astrophysics (an ever-present interest) supports taking the Bible much more seriously than many think possible. It’s exciting to be open each day to what God can show me in the Bible.

   (2)  Recording in a journal helps me remember what I did last Thursday, and sometimes that matters, too. It’s enjoyable to share this with Karen. And, at present, having 3 residences that we periodically live in has its confusing moments.

   (3)  I take my writing very seriously. Things in my fiction matter (to me) in several ways. It’s good writing that contains many special moments–especially from past early times. In some ways it’s a filing cabinet of much that I consider important. And of some things I can still share–on Earth.

¹ Computer trouble again, losing hours of work. Macs are not perfect; neither am I. I need a post today, and I can’t again wade through what I’ve just lost. Pardon the roughness of a fast sharing…

² Mt. & Acts are not the only passages. Sometimes I regularly go through all the gospels and elsewhere. But Mt. and Acts are important resources to my novels Earth Is Not Alone and The Blood of Three Worlds. [This concludes this quick post that I hope doesn’t disappear before I save it.]
