  Palindromes are simply words, phrases, verses, sentences, or a number that read the same backward or forward.

Let’s start easy, with names:

   Or, there’s…Dr. Awkward who was a professor of African-American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. (First name, which we ignore was “Michael.”¹)

   The 2nd President George Bush was nicknamed “W” for, among other things, not being confused with the first one. This was pronounced and written by some as “Dubya.” When he won his second term in an election squeaker, it was announced by some doubters: “Dubya won? No way, Bud!

   One of my favorites (and  an original, by the way) describes (in yes, a future fantasy) the unexpected brutal battle where southern Canadian white-supremacists successfully held off  fleeing illegal Americans at our northern border the second time. A young boy reports to his concerned mother: “No war again, Mom! Niagara won!”  [You heard it here first.]
