From excerpts of unsealed conversation…

.

First, the wife:

.

“I’m very wary of politics…[He] helped me loosen up and feel comfortable taking risks, not doing things the traditional way and sort of testing it out…”

.

Then the husband:

.

“…I can be myself and she knows me very well and I trust her completely, but at the same time she is also a complete mystery to me in some ways. And there are times when we are lying in bed and a look over and sort of have a start. Because I realize here is this other person who is separate and different and has different memories and backgrounds and thoughts and feelings. It’s that tension between familiarity and mystery that makes for something strong, because, even as you build a life of trust and comfort and mutual support, you retain some sense of surprise or wonder about the other person.”

.

Who is this husband and wife? For that and more, go through the DOOR.

None other than Michelle and Barak Obama. This comes from an interview conducted by Mariana Cook in Hyde Park on May 26, 1996 that was published in The New Yorker on Jan. 19, 2009. We found it on the Internet.

Why do we include this moment of sensitive candor under “Presidential Wannabees”? Well, the new candidates are hardly acting presidential, and Barak is the President for a bit longer. Who knows, if the Republicans and Democrats make a horrible mess out of everything, he may make another executive order and declare himself President for another four years. After all, our country has still got more stuff to give away.
