You’ve been given another day and you recognize it. Not everyone can do this. So how does a reflecting and thinking person do this? As we’ve discussed several times, philosophy doesn’t have to be fancy. Anyone (who so purposes) can do this. Ask yourself the 3 basic questions (total of 9 words):

  (1)  What is?

  (2)  What matters?

   (3)  Then what should I do?

This will take you from where you are to somewhere else–but not just anywhere. For more commentary, see the “BONUS¹.” A footnote makes almost anything (or anywhere) sound more serious.

¹ BONUS: God must recognize that His children frequently get confused about what can, and should, lie ahead. As part of the special prayer the Lord taught His disciples is the line, “Give us our daily bread.” Now God must be doing more than covering our need for carbohydrates. This metaphor (we’ve often discussed figures of speech) wraps itself around much more than even proteins and vitamins. It can well refer to how we should daily live–perhaps doing d, e, or f, rather than a, b, or c, hence focusing upon what really matters that we might miss traveling alone. And yes, that can be complicated.

One more thing is the implication: It’s “daily bread” we’re after. Tomorrow God expects us to start our search all over again.
