U. S. House Approves

Spending Bill…

For half of your seconds,

“Feel” the zeros…

For “more” use the DOOR.

On Jan. 15, 2014, Andrew Taylor  (AP) reported that the U.S. House overwhelmingly approved a 13-figure approval of spending to cover us up until just before this fall’s election.

Some things were cut here and there just to show that Congress can do its job. There were small cuts and compromises on almost every one of the bill’s 1582 pages. Nice?

Taylor, almost as an afterthought, points out: “Excluded are the giant benefit programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Food stamps that run on autopilot and are increasingly driving the government deeper into debt.”

“Of course, we can’t cut those!” you say. True, we’re married to those benefits…

Of course, too, we can’t keep burying ourselves in debt forever.

The party will end…that’s for sure, as did Belshazzer’s feast. The question is just when.

And what comes next?
