zeugma — (n.)  “zyoog-, or zoog ma”  A figure of speech which is a word that applies to two other words in two different senses. (adj) zeugmatic


Okay, here are some examples:


• Both John and his license expired last night.

• The room was not light but his fingers were.

• With the last drop of her coffee Sharon’s hope disappeared.
